# a description of the event.
description = " The Hack'N Heights Hybrid Hackathon is dedicated to showcasing how decentralized data can redefine our digital interactions. Our mission is to foster an environment where our bounty sponsors' combined technologies and frameworks—Chainlink, The Graph Protocol, Plurality Network, soonami.io and Pinax—illustrate the compelling advantages of web3 approaches.
The kick-off event will take place on May 21th at Deutsche Telekom Building with technical presentations. We anticipate developers will create exciting applications and explore blockchain technology's next wave of billion-dollar data-related use cases. Chainlink provides decentralized oracles, seamlessly integrating off-chain data into the blockchain world. Similarly, The Graph Protocol efficiently indexes and queries blockchain data, making it accessible for dApps and the broader off-chain landscape. Additionally, Plurality Network offers an onboarding solution, aggregating variable user data from social platforms that can be leveraged for both on-chain and off-chain use cases. We believe developers can craft amazing applications at this intersection of data and blockchain, eagerly look forward to the innovations to come!

This event seeks to illuminate the cohesive power of these technologies, demonstrating their compatibility and strength in solving complex data problems.

What to Expect:

Global Participation: Engage from any location worldwide, facilitated by our seamless collaboration with Foundance.org, known for its robust digital hackathon platform. Generous Bounties: Compete for prizes worth $6000 as you bring your innovative solutions to life, generously sponsored by our partners committed to advancing the web3 ecosystem. Expert Guidance: Receive unparalleled support and feedback from industry leaders who are as passionate about decentralized solutions as you are. Our mentors are seasoned professionals from the sponsoring organizations who offer direct insights and guidance. Collaborative Environment: Work alongside peers and experts in a dynamic online setting, fostering collaboration and the exchange of revolutionary ideas.

Hi what is this for? We've already added your event at https://github.com/blockchainweek/data/issues/49

lorena1974 commented 6 months ago

This is the online hackathon. THe event #49 is an in person event and kickoff of the hackathon

lorena1974 commented 6 months ago

Please I modified the organizers: Should be ¨Foundance, Soonami, Chainlink, The Graph, Pinax, Plurality Network" and dates: ¨21th to 27th¨ Could you please update?

kuzdogan commented 6 months ago

Added the event please double check

lorena1974 commented 6 months ago

Please chech the mistake. The hackathon start on May 21th to May 28th. In blockchain Week website say May 20th. https://blockchainweek.berlin/24

kuzdogan commented 6 months ago

Sorry I haven't paid attention when adding but I have to remove this event as it is online and out of the scope of the BBW. The other in-person event is perfectly fine but we can't add fully online events or events that are not in Berlin

mujtabaidrees94 commented 6 months ago

Hi @kuzdogan I am one of the organizers and am supporting @lorena1974 here. There has been a miscommunication on our part. Actually, this is a hybrid event with kick-off and workshops happening in Berlin, with teams of the relevant networks present. Please also check #49 where we have listed the meetup separately. I suppose we'll change it to a hybrid event and update this ticket.

lorena1974 commented 6 months ago

Hi @kuzdogan I updated the event, As @mujtabaidrees94 mentioned, the event is a hybrid event with kick-off and workshops happening in Berlin on May 21th as you can see in Issue #49.

mujtabaidrees94 commented 6 months ago

Adding to this... We would organize the closing event of this hackathon and regular check-ins with hackers all during the Berlin Blockchain Week.

kuzdogan commented 6 months ago

My impression is this event is not a hybrid event but online. I can see already how it's listed in every promotion post as an "online hackathon". Are you providing space for hackers in Berlin during the whole event? IMO that's the defining question.

As said the opening, closing etc. events that physically take place in Berlin are very welcome, and you can change the description of those as Hackathon Opening etc.
