[Remove Request] - Stale Domains Adult List #1312

Open Runthescript opened 1 month ago

Runthescript commented 1 month ago

URL you wish to be removed: It appears that the adult list contains records from over 200k domains that do not resolve to a website or an adult redirect. I can provide an up to date list to compare.

Why you believe this to be a false positive: Have analyzed every domain in this list to find that 227,779 domains do not resolve any longer.

List it is on:

Adult content list Other info you think we should know: Please reach out to me for results, and if this is useful maybe we update the rest.

Good luck with any changes to https://github.com/blocklistproject/Lists, as it appears unmaintained. This comment is based on the fact the last change (commit) to this project was way back to the Jan 8, 2024 with the https://github.com/blocklistproject/Lists/commit/f2bdd1deab05f6a22739671cc20a17444e53699f commit

However I can offer you all to join https://github.com/mypdns/matrix to report what you might find out there. Be sure to read the https://github.com/mypdns/matrix/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md and FAQ section on whitelisting principles

A important thing to keep in mind about @mypdns project is we primary are a library for why stuff are ended up on any of the lists, and the lists then only reflects these rulings.

Alternative to report Phishing is https://github.com/mitchellkrogza/phishing where I'm among the captains that can push any valid reports. Again, please follow the issue templates as I do make seance for those who are handling the issues and for other readers.

Thanks for you comment, glad to hear you like my work and spent time :)

There are actually already 3 possibilities for that

  1. https://kb.mypdns.org/issues?u=1&q=project:%20Matrix
  2. https://www.mypdns.org/support.html
  3. https://github.com/orgs/mypdns/discussions which in fact is https://github.com/mypdns/Support/discussions

First of all, that's not even the last commit. People still make pull requests and are getting merged.

Okay, I noticed that GitHub couldn't detect the license, so I went to check, and this is insane.

CC BY-NC-SA??? Maybe it isn't that bad, but... MCRAE GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE???

These are obviously not libre licenses. (especially MGPL)

But most importantly, WHERE ARE THE LISTS??? What is this site? Where is Pi-Hole/AdGuard support? Why is YouTrack used when you already have GitHub? How is this better than Blocklist Project/uAssets?

IT IS NOT.

A important thing to keep in mind about @mypdns project is we primary are a library for why stuff are ended up on any of the lists, and the lists then only reflects these rulings.

But how is that useful, just a reason for every site? Your issues tab is bloat.

Alternative to report Phishing is https://github.com/mitchellkrogza/phishing where I'm among the captains that can push any valid reports. Again, please follow the issue templates as I do make seance for those who are handling the issues and for other readers.

This is also just an unformatted list of links.

I would not recommend My Privacy DNS, as it is a lame excuse of a blocklist. Blocklist Project is still better, and your claims are false. Try better next time.

@NexusSfan You are free to read the letters, both in the comment above and in the Projects README, it would make your comment a comment, based on actual knowledge, rather than soil your self in public spaces

All blocklists are a library, yes.

"letters"? You didn't even address any of my questions.

Those links you had made me even more confused as to what is My Privacy DNS.

The questions I asked about the licensing issues, the unfriendly README, and the badly designed website were never answered. So why do you hate on https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts? Why is your project poorly designed? I was conducting research about this, and you are just saying "you are wrong" to me.

Be more clear with your replies.

It there a way you could add lists for CSAM? This would make this blocklist really really popular blocking known websites used for child abuse.. :P

They are already in the lists... and been it for years, they are just hidden among the others to NOT reveal which are the bad ones.

When you find new ones not listed, please do open a issue on https://kb.mypdns.org/, their we can hide the issues from the public and obey the laws and at the same time do good. for all other question regarding #matrix please use proper channels. this repo is not about mypdns
