Cannot keep running on Oneplus 5T Oxygen OS 9.0.11 Android 9 with 4.10 from fdroid #862

I see there is a 5 now, however latest from fdroid is 4.10 - so if you've already fixed this, great :-) I'll get it eventually.

The "persistent notification" setting does NOT keep blokada running on my device.

Apps that do keep running:

Perhaps take a look at the code implemented by these three to stay alive? I can't get blokada to stay alive for long at all, which is a shame as the first I know is that I'm seeing ads in a browser, but I'd also like to be blocking stuff from the built in apps/services the whole time even though I see no in-app ads due to 100% fdroid life (except signal, grrrrr).

Ahh, from #821 I see that 5 IS available. Giving it a shot now :-)

Okay, 5 told me to activate always-on VPN in one of the dialogs during setup. So it was that the whole time. Maybe you could detect that that's NOT the case and prompt or link with an activity? I wish I'd known that this was even a thing from the start! Oops.
