[Feature Request] Possible to block cookies dialogues on websites? #879

Hello,

I know I can use an extension on some browsers like Firefox or Kiwi. I still prefer Opera on Android, and I am desperate about cookie warnings... Virtually any new site I visit, or a previous one in private mode, shows the cookie dialogue. Moreover, even previous sites keep on popping up the dialogue from time to time.

I wonder whether it would be possible to build a new feature, or write a block list, that blocks the cookies dialogues (I read that there is a list for AdGuard, so maybe it is possible to make a list for Blokada).

But keeping in mind that a blank overlay would not be a solution, as it would just make matters worse (it would prevent from seeing the webpage).

Thank you in advance.

Regards.

Hi,

May I ask where did you read this article about AdGuard? Hostname based blocking (what Blokada does) won't be able to distinguish between the website's elements, like the popup about the cookies.

This is where I read about AdGuard blocking cookie dialogues: https://amp.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/eursco/tip_you_can_block_the_irritating_cookie_request/

In general, you cannot suppress cookie dialogs with DNS blacklisting. At least, most of them.

Yes, you can block some third-party resources, but mostly it is impossible.
