unhappy selection of name #36

Speaking of nitpicking in issue no. 32, "WebGL Rubik's Cube is © Werner Randelshofer." Surely he will not suit you but change of name would not hurt you in my opinion...

I am willing to change the name, I was planning that anyway. I know gCube is used by Google, so I won't use that. I am thinking GLube or GL-Cube.

I don't think Werner Randelshofer can have a copyright on a name as generic as the contamination of WebGL and Rubik's cube. I think he means his source code is his copyright, not the name. It's like saying I made a 'Wooden table by M. van der Blonk' doesn't mean I get the rights to all wooden tables in the world.

Copyright is not the same as trademark. I am sure gCube by Google is more likely to be protected, just like iPhone and iPad.

(offtopic) I was thinking of ERNÖ. The last letter is sort of impossible in English, though. So the best I can come up with is MARC: Michiel's Applet of Rubik's Cube.(/offtopic)

I like GLube, so I used that. It also reflects the use of lube for speedcubing. I wouldn't call it an applet, that name is associated with Java, which is exactly what we're trying to replace.
