Closed bcube2 closed 1 year ago
The border was just for my testing to see the size of the cube. I will remove it.
When you do it, please let me/us know.
it was just solved yesterday!
sorry forgot to upload to /scripts. It was only on github
Interestingly enough, on galaxy ace 3 the border is still visible and the algorithm area is still empty (as mentioned in another issue). I will look at it on computer on monday...
offtopic: did you know my Blonk number is 2 via several people? :-)
haha well a blonk number is usually not that big.... :-) BTW what is your site?
Yeah but it is not your fault. The reason is well-travelled cubers like Ron or Lars Vandenberg.
hlavolam.maweb.eu - but it is only in Czech
Ah so that is your website. I see you're using AnimCube. I am targeting a lot of his features, but my main animation has always been rubikplayer. Your site is extremely comprehensive. Well done.

For 3x3x3 (and derived puzzles like Void cube, Rubik´s domino etc.), yes. Main reasons:
For Barrel, 2x2x2, 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 I use Werner´s applets (obvious). For Square-1, Pyraminx and Megaminx I use applets made by Lucas and Jeremy Fleischman (Lucas plans to convert it into JS).
For some puzzles (mostly denoted by upper index 1 in my home page) I use scanning of computer screen instead, leading in a video output (Boris´ applets are beautiful, for example: http://pMetro.su/pCubes.zip).
I like pcubes, very nice. I'll get to edit parameter, and move counter too. Show/hide buttonbar is easy, you can simply remove the whole html section in order to remove the buttonbar. Or just remove whatever you want from the html.
As we are out of the original topic already, I must recommend you to go ahead and look at some other applets if you like pCubes: http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24876
I wonder if you can solve other puzzles than 3x3x3 and Rubik's magic as your wca profile says?
Nice page. I don't have other puzzles, but at one point I could do the 4x4, 5x5 and megaminx. And of course the 2x2 LOL. I understand commutators so many puzzles are within reach.
Aha, in that case I demand to know if you can solve the Dino cube (it should not take so much time to you). Next step could be shapeshifters - Fisher cube seems like a nice challenge for you. Last but not least, you can already try the Void cube in your GLube simulator. I guarantee you will be suprised if you decide to use cfop (as your speedsolving method) on it :-)

I am just letting you know that I noticed that java-based applets seems to be working as well. For more information see speedsolving.com thread.
I just checked Ryan Heise's site http://www.ryanheise.com/cube/edges_first.html and it seems like he actually ported animcube completely to javascript using GWT. That's quite a feat! If you like you can ask Ryan for the source code and usage. On his site the code is obfuscated (not open source). Of course I will keep improving my own cube as well, but perhaps you can already start by using this one. Things are busy here, so development of GLube is currently slow.
I tried 2 years ago to contact him via e-mail. Without success - he is apparently not active anymore (seems like since 2008). Maybe my e-mail ended up in his spam folder, I don´t know.
I tried to somehow run it even without his help, but I didn´t succeeded (the code is very complex and unreadable for me)... So you say without his help the usage is forbidden to others? :-(
I would love to use his system as a replacement of my current system. Subsequently, I plan to replace it by your or Werner´s simulator.
Thanks for the heads-up about development. I was thinking you were either on vacation or busy beacause of examination period (as a teacher)...
Yeah we're wrapping up the school year, but I also have new website development projects running. So it's busy all over. In a week it's summer break, I'll have more time to devote.
I think Ryan Heise's code is usable, but without the source it will be difficult to figure out how to set parameters. I think it looks good, though not as good as AnimCube itself.
I am planning to do something similar with GLube where the buttons are simply generated by the script, so you don't actually have to include them. That way it's easier to plug in cubes with just an algorithm and you get the buttons automatically.
If I have time I will look into Heise's code and see if I can make a demo that's workable.
Mabye I found the source code. See a speedsolving.com thread for more if you are interested.
And first issue found ;-) https://github.com/molarmanful/AnimCubeJS/issues/1

Please make no border around the applet (white or tranpared border are ok)
