Groovy Updater Script Example 3 missing Userroles #13

Open AndreScheffer opened 4 years ago

The Groovy Updater Script Examples, Example 3 "Create security domains for groups to only be able to read/author/edit in a list of CMS locations" does not reflect the new version 14 security overhaul, and specifically does not include Userroles. The code example seems unchanged since version 11. It would be great if this could be updated to reflect the new security model.

Here is my working adaptation for Bloomreach Experience 14. Will probably need some cleanup for general public use.

Nice work, thanks for sharing! We will pick this up asap.

We had a look at your script. It mostly works but there are some issues with it like authors/editors not being able to upload images and assets.

More importantly, the engineers who refactored our security model think the original script should really be refactored as well to incorporate updated best practices for the new model.

Altogether, this turns out to be a bit more complex and time-consuming than initially thought and right now, priorities and available resources mean that we have to move this to our backlog.

If you require assistance with this, there is always the option of discussing this in our community forum or, if you are a Bloomreach customer, to raise this with Bloomreach support so our professional services team can help you out.

Thank you for the feedback. My script works for our current purpose, but I'll definitely look out for your future refactored script, so I can also refactor mine to align with best practices.
