current img still has some artifcats where 18701 had none, e.g. snap 2019-01-23 at 17 45 31

Changing the bpp to 16 or 24 does not change anything here.

Older novnc version (0.4 from Stable) shows the same behavior.

Setting the compositors vsync setting to Never does not get rid of all of the artifacts but most of them are gone. Especially the one when opening up yakuake.
