Netrunner Backports: how to ensure Backports is compatible with Testing? #24

I wonder what exactly is causing conflicts if both repos are enabled to do an upgrade http://forums.netrunner.com/showthread.php?tid=24397&pid=40862#pid40862

Shouldnt this work regardless which 17.xx version Netrunner is updgraded from?

Thats the issue we discussed previously with backports and testing enabled breaking every now and then depending on what the state of Debian Testing is currently. The ultimate solution is and if I remember correctly you agreed to switching to a model where we have backports build against a certain snapshot of debian testing and allow users then to upgrade with that debian testing snapshot so we can make sure nothing breaks for their systems.

For existing users what we need to do is build the 17.12 packages of KDE Applications against the newer Debian Testing Qt version. As we had problems with building newer KDE Applications on DCI lately this got delayed.
