[Kubuntu] Appstream metadata #130

Somebody else did the work, maybe it would be possible to integrate it in Kubuntu at least?

[15:51] all that's needed is in https://github.com/ximion/appstream-dep11 - and soon also packaged for Debian (and therefore in Ubuntu as well) [15:52] there is no extensive documentation yet, though. But I explain it to everyone who asks :P [15:55] (it's basically just setting up a local Debian archive mirror, writing a very simple YAML definition file and then running dep11-generactor process :P)

bump? any updates of it being part of the distro?

ximion's appstream-data is in the ubuntu archive at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appstream-data but I thought Muon couldn't use it yet when using the apt backend?

No, the AptBackend can use the metadata I want.

I'll look into adopting the new format then.
