Install wget to not fail when it's not there
enable bash strict mode, so that errors are immediately visible
annotate distro releases fully with families, codenames and numbers everywhere, because codenames are too much to remember, and mistakes in this are bad.

Installation with these changes was tested on all supported distros. Results:

debian 10 good
debian 11 glitched out, restarted and running good now
mint vera good
ubuntu 18.04 good
ubuntu 20.04 good
ubuntu 22.04 good
