We would like to have a way to write to tags through Alien Readers using either telnet commands or something else. As a basis for the design, we're going to use the Alien Gateway Software.
Here's how the feature should work:
Using the native menu, there should be a "Mode" dropdown with options 1) Timer & 2) Tag Writer
Timer should be the default mode
Switching from Timer to Tag Writer should stop all connections and services from the Timer, and vice versa
Tag Writer should show the current tag being read from the antenna
Tag Writer should allow you to connect to an Alien Reader through telnet
Tag Writer should have an auto & manual mode of writing tags
Auto - Increment on the previously written tag. Only increment if previous write was successful
