I don't need my screenshots uploaded to the internet. Is there a way to set a custom folder and have screenshots sent there?

bluegill commented 6 years ago

Screenshots are saved to ~/.katana/uploads but are deleted automatically by default. I will add support for a custom save folder and work on implementing an option to just copy the image directly to your clipboard instead of uploading it to an external host.

Any update on this FR?

The only thing stopping me from rolling this out is that everything is automatically uploaded to the internet.

That's a deal breaker for me.

Hello @bluegill ,

This is an awesome idea, that's what I'll work on it soon. Any update about localhost upload and/or maybe you'll implement cloud storage services such as amazon s3, google cloud storage. digital ocean, vultr, etc.

@Jarli01 is right, I'm with him.

Thank you.

Though I'm with @mattboston and @Jarli01 on this and quite like the app, I thought I'd share: You can use the somewhat same functionality with the shortcut cmd+ctrl+shift+4 (using the built-in MacOS screenshot capabilities). Hope it helps / is not too off-topic

Is there a way the screenshots can be copied to the clipboard where I can paste them at the relevant place? I can also try to make that change and submit a PR if possible.

Also I think you should explicitly mention in the readme that all screenshots are uploaded to the internet directly.
