Enabling receiving new posts (and replies) notifications from sepecific users #2530

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I hope to always receiving notifications from specific users every time they have new posts. This feature has been implemented on most Fediverse servers and clients for a long time.

Describe the solution you'd like

Just like Twitter, adding an option to choose between subscribing to the new posts / the new posts & replies / none on other user's profile page.

Long pressing the notification banner, enables the user to perform quick actions, e.g. "Like", "Reply", etc.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I just peeked into the source code in a glimpse and didn't found such feature, and haven't think of any other alternatives.

Additional context

This feature seems not that important, but can definitely improve some users' experience, e.g. enthusiasts of an artist, a franchise or a celebrity.

I think this is the first ticket opened about this feature, but it has been requested before and it is on our internal feature development list. We plan to add this feature and would like to get it in soon, but don't have a more specific timeline.
