Changing profile photo is impossible #3969

I tried to upload my first profile photo from official Android app and it didn't work.

I tried to upload from Google Chrome on desktop and it didn't work either. Well, I saw my photo but it was too big and I couldn't see any buttons.

Would appreciate it if you actually used the provided issue templates for all these issues you're making.

There isn't really a next time if you want this issue to be solved, right now I have zero idea which part of the process you're having issues with.

Are you having issues with cropping the image? Are you having issues with picking the image from the gallery, or is it the camera you're having problems with? Are you having issues with saving the profile?

The template helps us so much as it helps you in a. checking if it's a valid issue, b. actually fixing your issue.

There is an edit functionality here, you should copy the issue template and paste it into this issue, then fill out the details ^^

On mobile, I choose the photo from gallery and say save but it doesn't upload or save. IDK if it's because of image size...

On desktop, I choose the photo but it simply just shows my photo on whole screen and there isn't any buttons to do something.

I will look into template when I have time, sorry btw.

On Android app, I waited longer and photo was uploaded. We need a screen that says "please wait, loading" etc.

Desktop is still same though.

I can confirm this issue still exists. I am brand new first time user and the ability to add a profile picture in the Android app is not possible. After using the sliding scale to resize a selected picture from the phone's library and pressing the tick in the top right corner, the account still shows the default @ symbol as the profile picture and when clicking save nothing has changed.

Like the OP I am using an Android phone.
