Right now, there is no way to close replies for a post's comment. If a post has many comments and I just need to scroll through top level (parent) comments I have to go through all the replies too. So having an interaction to hide all the replies to any comments would be great, especially for posts with large comments interaction.
For clarification, I know there is an option to hide comments but AFAIK it is irreversible, I suggest a way to simply close them and later open them if needed by a tap or via an option (like in reddit where you can hide child comments via an interaction button)

Here is how reddit does this. There is a button on the down left side of each comment which can be clicked to hide all the replies to that comment.
Then if the user wants to see the replies they can click the same button again and it will be opened.
Bluesky doesn't have to exactly replicate this since it is a forum website and bluesky is not. Just shared the image to give you a better understanding about my request.
