Ability to sync multiple Calendar Folders

Original issue reported on code.google.com by arthur.z...@gmail.com on 24 Feb 2010 at 1:20

Actually I would think that this needs to read "multiple calendars in both"
directions". You can have multiple calendars on the Kolab side but also on the
Android side.

@cburghar: exactly. currently, there is only one folder in IMAP that is synced
to the "Main" calendar on Android. The app should provide for a method to sync
each IMAP Folder to its separate Calendar on the phone (and the other way
round).

The problem we have with the calendar app on the phone is discussed here:

So basically the calendar sync is _not_ usable at the moment :(

That sounds too negative. Is my understanding right: If I am not using any
Google calendar and not synching with Google and using kolab-android INSTEAD,
there is no issue with using one calendar?!?

No, you're wrong... Calendar sync is still broken in kolab-android. It syncs to
the google calendar on the phone (if available) and crashes? if there is none...

So, please don't use calendar sync unless you are familiar with sqlite, have
rooted your phone and know what you're doing :)

too late! :-)
It crashed the first time and killed my calendar, but now it seems to work. As
far as I understand: As long as there is a Google calendar on the phone, I am
using only one calendar and not syncing with Google, I am save?!? (Sorry, for
being so stiff-necked, but your sync approach is it cool to be ignored. I have
checked out funambol, opensync and some commercial Outlook sync tools. But your
"serverless" approach is smart and simple. Why use peer-to-peer sync or set up
a SyncML server when there is an IMAP server always available? Please continue
fixing the calendar thing!!! Don't give up!)

Me too. Want to use multiple calendars (and phone books) like multiple
email-accounts on my AndroidPhone and sync them via KolabDroid. I try the
"Business Calendar (free)" which allows multiple iCal-Files via FTP as
temporary workaraound. Any news or developments ...
