my email is iittabarelli@gmail.com i have got it on smartphone so you can reach me in everytime, my question is could you modify your broswer program to modify from ai to human or from human to ai ? so i could convert a file from hotseat to sigle player and viceversa. Thank you

Hi!

In order to implement something like this, the first step is to test to see whether it would work or not. Even if it's possible to change the save file, there's no guarantee that it will work in the game so it needs to be tested first.

Please create a hotseat game with at least two human players and attach it to this issue (you should just be able to drag and drop the file into the comment box) and I'll see if I can modify it.

Also, in case it helps, someone on the CivFanatics forums mentioned another option for achieving this:

I have not tried this, but I think you can load the game up as multiplayer hotseat with you playing both the Incas and Russians. When it is your turn to play the Russians, you resign. I just need a hotseat game from you so I can test whether it will work to change from a human player to AI. It doesn't matter how many players it has. Please create one and attach it to this issue.

Sure:

1. First you'll need to find where your save games are stored. The instructions here should help if you're having trouble finding them: 2K Support: Where can I locate my saved games?
2. Now go to the save editor: https://bmaupin.github.io/civ5save-editor/
3. Click Open save file and browse to the save file you'd like to edit
4. After modifying the save file, click Download
5. If you'd like, rename the new save file so you can easily recognize it in the game
6. Now copy the downloaded save file to the same folder where your save games are stored (from step #⁠1)
7. Finally start the game and load the new save file

I think I may have figured out while your file isn't being sent. Apparently GitHub only supports certain file formats, including zip files. Can you please zip the save file and try again? Thanks!

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying it didn't work?

Since the game is already exited in this case, can you try to load it and see if it lets you assign any of the human players to an AI?
