Define all glossary terms and concepts #1

The glossary is currently incomplete. Add definitions with sources. We can edit for content/brevity after all items are defined.

Just came across this repo. I am curious if you are planning to use this repo for LIS users in Discover only, or LIS users in general? If you intend to do the later, I would be happy to pitch in. We have developed some internal material as I try to train my students in LIS.

[Background - Was formerly working with LIS in Goddard. Now in IIT Delhi]

Hi @msaharia, thanks for getting in touch! This repo has focused on providing information for LIS users in the Discover environment so far because the primary audience has been recent additions to the LIS team at Goddard. I think it would be valuable to also provide information that is environment agnostic to enable broader use of LIS, but I'll have to check in with Sujay to get his thoughts. I'll keep you posted!

No worries. Sujay is aware and involved with our projects in IITD. Augusto as well.

If you want to keep it minimalistic keeping Discover in mind, that's totally fine. But if you end up targeting the larger community, I would be happy to contribute towards a single "LIS onboarding" static website with training materials.
