Hi @iteles I just got off the phone with a LG agent. She explained to me that appliances purchased in 2019 (and 2020/2021/2022) have a 2 year warranty that covers 'anomalias do equipamento'. Since you purchased your microwave in 2019, the 10 year warranty sticker on the appliance only covers problems with the 'motor'. In order to find out whether this is a problem with the microwave's motor or not, you would have to ask the 'assistencia tecnica' to place a request for the 'centro tecnico' to come see the appliance in person. The closest agency is Ermesinde https://goo.gl/maps/zrhf7akwfpwKjJ4c8. I called them a few times already (but goes to voicemail every time). I was trying to find out what their 'custo de deslocação' and 'custo de mao de obra' are because the LG agent explained that even if this is a motor problem, the warranty will not cover those two expenses.
Please keep trying this afternoon or look for the next one a little further away!
I have been trying them throughout the day, and it has been going to voicemail every time. I called the LG agent (Ines) again and she explained that 'este centro tecnico é o unico que esta associado ao código postal'. 🙃 However, she did say she can contact the centro tecnico herself for us and place the request but will need following information:
morada completa modelo numero de serie (not the one on the photo you sent me, I tried) data de compra (to indicate is out of warranty)
@iteles I called Luis asking to look for the serial number.
I checked online, and there's usually a sticker in the back like this:

However, Luis couldn't find it. He looked multiple times.
This means the LG agent can't make the request for us, but we can try emailing the centro tecnico directly and seeing what they say. (Email sent - CC'ed you)
@Stephanymtr there's a piece of plastic in the same cupboard as the microwave (on a lower shelf) that might have additional data on it.

That way we have some "redundancy" (i.e: we always have two Microwaves in the house) and if one breaks we're not stuck without being able to heat food like this ... 🤷♂️

Our lovely IKEA cupboards are only 40cm deep ... so this is the limiting factor.

I've proceeded with ordering the Microwave that has the same controls as our current one. (not that I particularly "like" it ... but it works and if we get the "old" one repaired then at least the interface is the same...)

When the old one returns it will go back in the left cupboard and we will have two side-by-side. 👌

Ah yes, this'll be €80 to fix. @nelsonic Should we go ahead with this or are we better off spending the extra €40/50 for the 2 year warranty of a new one?

I've ok'ed this. We need to make sure we have the washing machine sorted asap so we can test this ahead of the microwave coming back because it's the same person bringing back the microwave who fixes the washing machine.

We use the microwave for heating food (more than we should 🫣) but most importantly for sterilizing pacifiers quickly and warming up bean pillows for helping with baby colic/general soothing.
Unfortunately our BMH microwave appears to have suddenly stopped working 🙃
It has a 10 year guarantee, so @Stephanymtr, could you please call up the LG helpline and ask how we can use this guarantee? We purchased it in 2019 if I'm not mistaken.
