Totes agree we need something … But the water puddle in the middle feels like a bit of a gimmick. 🤷♂️ “Not very big” means it won’t “contain” 2️⃣ for very long and you’ll just end up needing to place a towel in front of it …
if the idea is to protect a child from the sun & wind, I would consider the option from decathlon as better quality. 💭

Watch the video to see how easy+fast it is to setup.
The idea is to do that but also give her a place to be able to play in the water that is shaded and safe (away from the actual water) 🤷🏻♀️
The change here is that I hope we'll be spending more time at the actual beach this year where we can't really be getting up to get her buckets of water if we're with her by ourselves because the water line is further away. If A is playing in the rock pools, she could be playing with water too.
I also wanted something a little smaller than the Decathlon one because I don't really want to be putting up a house-size tent at the park, but I'll keep looking!
Just get the exact one you want. And if we only use it a handful of times that's fine. 👌
Didn't need this at all in the end, just stuck to the shade with baby, lots of hats and long sleeve swimsuits and sunscreen 👌
With our eldest, at this point in his life (baby stage) and during the hot hot summer months, I spent MANY a day outside with him - we would always go somewhere shady and hang our there playing on a mat.
With a toddler, I'm finding that many of the places we go with him (parks mostly) have very little shade or the shade is just a bit too far away from the toddler attractions to be useful. I don't want to leave the baby in the shade to go make sure the toddler is safe and equally I don't want her constricted in the buggy or being carried around all the time just to stay shaded. She needs to be on the floor with all the moving around space she can get.
So I propose we get a portable pop up tent so we can keep her close and anywhere we like.
I like this kind of beach tent because it's also pretty cool to be able to dig a little and give her some (salt) water to play with near our towels on the beach or pool. I foresee a lot of rock pools in our future now that our toddler has discovered them 😆
Objections?
It's not very big, but it's 'big enough' for the baby and portable which is the key.
