Code review request - Githubissues

Purpose of code changes on this branch:
Revisiting my home-grown clunky build system with an experimental but
clever one. It's currently slightly broken (see
http://code.google.com/p/quagmire/issues/detail?id=5), but not too badly.

I might just merge it in without feedback, since this is in the development
line, it mostly works (with a one liner tweak, anyway), and it probably
just affects me anyway. Whoever codes gets to decide, I guess...

When reviewing my code changes, please focus on:
Whether I removed some important functionality.

After the review, I'll merge this branch into:
/trunk/quadra
