Could you also check if there is any possible way to add a banner in the shop front page just above the product listings.

One way to achieve this is to add a the banner image as the featured image for the store page and have the system display this on the shop (store) page.

For category displays the banner image that's displayed comes from the HTML entered in the content_above_category_title field. Note: There's no real need for links to the image.

Yasmin, has tested these. The requirement is for something a bit more extensive than just displaying the featured image. She sent an example of a grid showing 8 images with several product categories. Perhaps this can be achieved using the product categories block or similar code.
