Hi Jan-kvar,

Before your app came along I was using the “Wiz Connected” https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.wizconnected/WiZ-Connected/ to control my Wiz lights, so I am converting my existing lights over to your app, so what I did was add your app and then added just one light to light my kitchen sink light to the new app just to test it and found that it did work but I have one problem and some questions.

1 – I am using the Circadian Lighting app https://homey.app/en-us/app/net.alistairs.circadian/Circadian-Lighting/ to control the light brightness and temperature, but this does not seem to work with your app. I tried to remove the app's trigger and reinstall it but it still seems to not be connected to the light in the auto state, I can get it to do some changes in manual test mode but in auto it does not work. In the attached snapshot you can see that the small dot for the kitchen sink is not lit with the Circadian color nor is the sink light fixture lit, all the others using the “Wiz Connected” are lit for example.

2 – Should I delete the light from the Wiz iPad app after it is connected to Homey?

I love how your app is not on the cloud and is on Homey only, it is my goal to not have any of my smart home devices being controlled on the cloud, by adding your app I am almost there! Thank you for this great app!

Thank You. Brian

I have no experience with the Circadian Lighting app so I may need to try to go through Source for the app to see if I can find out. Wizlan that I use myself works with flows in my environment and I can both adjust brightness and change "color" on the light. I know that some applications use the values 0 to 1 (eg 0.5 = 50%) with decimals to adjust brightness. Wizlan uses % (0 to 100) to adjust brightness, this may be a cause. I'm going to look a little further on the matter, but have a little limited time for the next 14 days.

I understand. I will look into the values and let you know what I find.

The app is now on the Homey Store, but under the name WizLan. The reason for this is that Homey wanted me to change the name in connection with the approval process. The app is the same as WizWiFi, but with slightly different icons and images (again the approval process).

Yes, sir, I'm using the official app from the Homey App Store.

Hi boeyum, Have you had time yet to look into what could possibly be wrong with your app WizLan working with the Circadian Lighting app? I have pride with my limited knowledge of what may be wrong or if I did something on my own wrong and can’t seem to get it to work.

thank you, Brian

Sorry I haven't responded before, but vacation time (June, July and August) is a busy time for me. In addition, when I do not use the Circadian Lighting app myself, it is difficult to get a complete test. However, I use the standard Homey Flow, and for me it works just fine. Which flow cards do you use? I have tried to look at the Circadian Lighting app code, but cannot find any things that would indicate problems against WizLan, so the next step now must be to see which flow cards you are using and check out from these.

Hi Jan-lvar,

Thank you for looking at my problem, I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing vacation!

I have three snapshots on my test light “kitchen sink” using your app “WizLan”, The Circadian Zone app says it only has two tag options available, Brightness, & Colour Temperature, I am using the tag from the Circadian Zone, not the Brightness, & Colour Temperature from the bulb tags itself. I found on the other Wiz app “Wiz Connected” I had to use the Circadian Zones tags for the Brightness, & Colour Temperature or it would not work.

How did you set up your test? Did you use the tags from the Circadian Zone (The First two tags in the drop-down) or the bulb itself?

I just want you to know I greatly appreciate your help and your time, yeah went over and above what is required for support of your app and I greatly appreciate it I respect you for it! thank you very much!

Brian

I have tried all day to get this to work with simple flows and advanced flows and the only thing I can get to work is the dimming, I cannot get the color to adjust using the Circadian Zone app, and the only thing I can find is my other Wiz lights are on the "Wiz Connected app" and in that app under Scenery they have a no scene which makes it work with "Wiz Connected app".

Which scenery setting would you recommend I use for your app? Do you think that could be my problem? what settings did you use on your test?

BC8144 commented 4 weeks ago

So I think I am setting this up all wrong, I have full control of the light with the wiz app but only part control with the "WizLan app". I tried reading your instructions, but I think I am missing something, do I need to delete the light from the wiz app after I set it up one Homey via the WizLan App?

Sorry for all the emails while you're on vacation! But if you get some down time just a quick proper way to install the light would be very much approached.

Hi, sorry it takes some time to answer. When it comes to the Wiz app (from Wiz Connect on mobile etc.) you do not need to delete in it. When it comes to my WizLan app, unfortunately, I found some missmatch between "automatically generated? flow cards" by Homey and those made and will use in the app. I am trying to fix this, and expect to post a new version during this month if all testing goes well.

Hi,

Ok, great I will test when the update comes out,

Thank you so much for your response, I'm happy to be helping in a very small way in making this app great. I love what you have done on getting off the cloud!
