9 years ago Might be interesting. There are some things to think about :
- Default buildings don't have a thumbnail. So we have to generate them.
- Generating a preview is fine when there is only one but when there are thousands of them it is very expensive. I already did the test with Mesh Info and it made a big freeze for a few seconds. We can always spread the process over time with an enumerable action thread or a co-routine or something but it's not to be neglected.
- There's gonna be a lot more information to display along with some options (spawn rate, upgrade, etc...). It wouldn't fit on the thumbnails without almost entirely covering it.
So if you can come up with something that is usable, I don't see why not adding it as an alternative display. The user could choose detail or thumbnail view, like in a file explorer.

I'm planning rewriting of Improved Assets Panel grid layout and making it a reusable component. My idea is to display buildings' thumbnails with text overlay in Themes Manager UI instead of the plain text list (or maybe add it as another layout mode).
