on the "Add" page, in between the clue and the "add photo" button

This is great. The map is awesome and the dragging isn't very discoverable, but I think it's just discoverable enough for the situations where people will want to do this. I realized while looking at it on my friend's phone that the issue of the keyboard covering up the "Take a Photo" button is particular to me since I'm on an iPhone 4 and I have a shorter screen.

I'm going to reopen and assign to Sabrina, just so she can see what it looks like for me. We don't need to change anything to support shorter screens unless she thinks we do.

This looks awesome! I think it looks fine since you can still see the take photo button. Will the map be replaced by the photo after the photo is taken?

kvanscha commented 11 years ago

Sabrina, no room for your icons though :(

teenage-witch commented 11 years ago

Yeah, I know. What if that was the overlay?

kvanscha commented 11 years ago

That'd be good for the overlay, but we're talking about the overlay only showing once, rather than every time. The things we're thinking right now of showing every time are:

  1. description
  2. map
  3. icons
  4. take a photo button

What do you think of changing the order (for example, so users have to scroll past the icons and the map to get to the two fields they need to fill out), or breaking it into two steps?

teenage-witch commented 11 years ago

Oh, I think I was thinking of something different for the overlay. Like a card with the icons on it and the background greyed out. Plus maybe with some instructional text.

I don't think we should be pushing back the two fields, or changing the order they appear. I feel like the first time use should reflect as close as it can how it would actually be when the user returns to add a clue.
