On new fw versions can't change server address but can downgrade it.

FlashTool Drivers

REMOVE TE SIM CARD

First install MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Drivers Connect device to pc, when turn it on detect mt6227 phone preloader com port and seconds later MediaTeck inc product. Need both ports, first one is to backup and flash and other one to sends AT commands.

BACKUP IMEI Turn on device and connect to comX at 9600 (HyperTerminal, PuTTy....) and read your IMEI AT^GT_CM=IMEI Don't continue if can't do it

Make a full backup. Run FlashTool and open scatter file (WW_S20.cfg), go to READ BACK and add a new file, hex start 0x00000000 length 0x00400000. Press read back, connect device and turn it on or restart. Wait OK message. Reboot device, press power button until reboot.

Flash. Run FlashTool and open scatter file, select ROM and VIV, press Download button, turn on device or restart and wait.. Wait OK message. Reboot device, press power button until reboot.

Now your device have 000000000000000 IMEI, restore it. Connect device, open comX 9600 (HyperTerminal, PuTTy....) AT^GT_CM=IMEI,yourimei Test AT^GT_CM=IMEI

Done!

Can send commands to configure it. AT^GT_CM=server,1,your.server,port,0# AT^GT_CM=LJDW# AT^GT_CM=APN,yourapn#

Turn it off and inster the SIM CARD

Optional disable OTA AT^GT_CM=OTASVR,1,no.server.here,1234,0# AT^GT_CM=OT,OFF#

Don't ask me for drivers installation

I can also confirm that this method works on brand new trackers (bought here: https://www.amazon.pl/dp/B0B4VQY6ZS?ref_=pe_25095781_587124791_302_E_DDE_dt_1) The only thing i had to do is to run FlashTool in compatibility mode with Windows XP Service Pack 3. Otherwise i got BROM ERROR: S_BROM_CMD_STARTCMD_FAIL (2005) whenever wanted to do a backup or flash.

Hello friends, I am facing the same problem as Fabry. First, I have always only one Mediatek com port on device manager (Windows10) but I 've also tried with Windows7 Pro. with the same unsuccessful result: always a question mark on MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM port (no problem on the other MediaTek USB Port). Furthermore, when I load the ROM into the Flash Tool software and I perform the Read Back, the final length presents a different hexadecimal value (0x00000800) than the one reported on this Github page. In any case, once I try nothing happens despite having selected the only available Mediatek com port. Is there perhaps any jumper (pins) on the electronic board that needs to be bridged/jumpered to enable the possibility of updating/flashing the firmware with the previous one (in order to finally be able to unlock the tracker and insert the new ip server)? For your information: The cable that was included doesn't have a data-part so you need another cable. The included one is only for charging. Also the comment from @voltane helped, i had the same problem!

I think it's not a cable issue because I can comunicate to the GPS device via putty with AT comands . Did you succeed in updating (downgrading) the firmware of your WanWay tracker? Are you using the right data cable? You must connect a data cable because with only a power cable doesn't work.

For flashing use data cable,no power cable, power on with cable attached on pc and FLASH starting without problem, install first the driver

Mine, it was the same version as your and I flashed it with previous version (Y2517_GW005A_V03_2022.10.21_17). You must follow the procedure indicated, step by step, clearly with the data cable and turn on the device from the appropriate button just before the flash. You will notice that the bottom of the flash program will change color. Use the program indicated in the procedure for flash: you have to strictly follow the step by step procedure.

Hey! Downgrading with all these Instructions worked fine for me, also replys the right firmware via SMS. BUT i am not able to get my device online in traccar. When sending the server via SMS it responds "OK", but not getting online in Traccar.

When Sending LOCKIP,WWDS20,UNLOCK# or LOCKAPN,WWDS20,UNLOCK#, it respondes with ERROR:101

What am I doing wrong?
