Plugin rss 1.3 -- Cannot add feeds #87

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install RSS 1.3
2. Try to add feed
3. Fail?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Feed is supposed to be added. Nothing happens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu Server 9.04
libtorrent-0.12.5
rtorrent-0.8.5
rtorrent-2.6

Please provide any additional information below.
Don't know if they are needed for this functionality, but php5-cli & curl
are installed. I also have scheduler plugin installed with no problems.

I've tried several private trackers as well as the following public (I
don't actually use these trackers, but I wanted to test them):
http://www.mininova.org/rss.xml
http://torrentbox.com/rssfeed.php
http://www.legaltorrents.com/feeds/cat/netlabel-music.rss

The following lines:
# RSS Feed plugin
schedule = rss,0,00:30:00,"execute={sh,-c,php
/var/www/rtorrent/plugins/rss/update.php& exit 0}"
were added to my .rtorrent.rc file (I've tried both with and without this
line commented).

I'm attaching a video of me attempting to add a feed as well. I attempted
to use both firefox 3.5 and IE8 (as seen in video).

1) See web-server log and browser console for errors. Paste its here.
2) Get last version of core files and plugins from svn.

did you try to use the SVN version, a LOT of bug fixes have been added to rss
just in
the past week or so.

1. I don't see anything in my /var/log/apache2 error or access logs that
correspond
to the timeframe in which I'm attempting to add the RSS.
Am I looking at the correct logs? The access logs are like 10MB, so I don't
want to
add it if its not needed. My error log is attached.

2. I just went through and got the latest SVN for the core & all my plugins.
It
didn't make a difference.

just a question, is plugins/rss/cache owned by the webuser or at least 777?

try to chmod that dir to 777 and see if it helps

The plugins directory is 777'd.

I just went through & did it again. No effect.

WILL

I have php5-cli installed.
Installing cgi in addition did not resolve issue either.

PREVIOUS DELETED SECTION (comment 12):

Can you email me at xxxxxxxx@gmail.com and let me know what you'd need to
remote in?

SSH access, rtorrent webui address, etc...

Also, I don't want to be an absolute pain, I mean, I can use RSSDler as well,
but at
the same time, I would like to know what's wrong.

Novik has responded. Thanks to the others who have emailed me as well!
