The phone charges through USB cable connection thus leading batteries to be 
drained very quickly

The problem seems to be that even though the battery is still half full, the 
amperage generated by the IOIO is not high enough for the phone to detect the 
usb connection.

UsbChargingCommander does not work. It installs fine but after choosing 
"Disable usb charging" the phone still charges.

The suggestions by YTai from https://github.com/ytai/ioio/wiki/Power-Supply 
seems to verify that the current (the white knob) on the IOIO needs to be set 
to max.
