[Project] Create a blog post series: "Fundamentals of Data Visualization in Bokeh" #2

Fundamentals of Data Visualization is a great book by Claus O. Wilke, that discusses core concepts of data visualization with nice examples. The book is available to read for free here: https://clauswilke.com/dataviz/

The visualization in the book are created using the R programming language. This internship project involves creating a series of blog posts (or a different learning resource) on how to create the various plots in the book using Python and Bokeh. The author, Claus O. Wilke, has given us permission for this project. :)

Preliminary reading

  1. (Required) Learn basics of Bokeh with these first steps.
  2. (Optional) Scan through Fundamentals of Data Visualization to get a sense of the book and visualizations in it.

Micro tasks for the contribution phase

  1. (Required) https://github.com/bokeh/outreach-programs/issues/6
  2. (Optional) Work on any documentation task on Bokeh's issue tracker.

To begin with, I am so glad to hear that Claus O. Wilke has given permission for the project to move forward in this direction. @pavithraes I recently received an email about the acceptance for this project and I would like to start working on this issue. Can I assign myself to this issue?

Hi @pavithraes I am Ajoke, an outreachy applicant. I am excited towards achieving a successful project because of my keen interest in Data Visualization. I am a data analyst with knowledge in Python and Data Visualization. I am excited about this project, hence my prompt act in installing Bokehon my laptop and understanding how it works. I am also familiar with the book "Fundamental Data Visualization" as it is what I used when trying to understand the concept and guidelines of data visualization. I have read all documentation regarding this project and I'm more interested in the success of this project by contributing my quota. Looking forward to collaborating with the Bokeh Community and making sure Data visualizing is done right.

Hello @nobody-butcat no project will be assigned by anyone. Look of for the project you are interested in. You will see a micro task. Click on it and you will see what you are to do. I hope this answers your question
