the logo might be preliminary... do we already support ENA or other platforms? The text would also be difficult to read in a thumbnail-sized logo so scaling should be adjusted. Maybe this is a job for illustrator or affinity designer?
I started looking into converting Anja's hand-drawn version into a vector one... just need a bit of time to finish, unless you have something similar already @adamovanja.
no I don't @misialq - thanks for looking into this 😊
@nbokulich as for ENA and other platforms being supported, I understood from @LenaFloerl's great tutorial that "through the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration (INSDC), data submitted to any of these three organizations" (being ENA, SRA and DDBJ) "is immediately shared among them, enabling free and unrestricted access to deposited data from all three platforms."

yep, but q2-fondue is routing this via SRA... maybe there should be a complex hierarchical structure, with fondue melting from the ENA + DDBJ forks into the SRA fork, and ultimately into q2-fondue 😂
but seriously, the text in the graphic might just be too complex for a logo... let's see what @misialq 's vector graphic rendering looks like though!
I'm fine with just removing the text from the logo - it was anyhow sth we added after discussion with the group
I have verified that the added configuration instructions (w/o local file caching) in the ReadMe suffice for getting q2fondue to run properly. Also, I suggest we keep the current logo draft in the repos until a vectorized version is available.
