Not sure how much interest there is in < 1.09... is 1.0 special because it's the first release?
@bolrog Basically 1.0 D2 was an entirely different gameplay in itself and quite a few people love it as a classic. I do runs here and there myself. Vanilla D2 1.0 was considered a very steep grind than that later patched versions of the game.
mrllamasc(a youtuber) did a few runs not long ago just because how different the game was..
I do also still playing v1.00, Since D2R is already around maybe they will release a patch for Diablo v1.14d, v1.00 is the 1st retail version, v1.07 is the 1st retail version of D2LOD Expansion, v1.13d is the last version where we still have all the dlls for modding, v1.14d is the last patch. Now The reason why some modders stick to old D2 version specially v1.13c and v1.12 is coz this is the only version have the HD/Widescreen support before, i hope you could put a support for v1.00 and v1.07 and maybe drop the other version less stress for you :), and maybe modders will adjust to your supported version too if they want to use D2DX.
BTW: v1.00 and v1.07 is still included on the Diablo II BNET Installer **
Diablo II Resurrected Tech Alpha v1.15.0.62115 Diablo II LOD Versions v1.14d v1.13d v1.07 D2 LOD v1.00 D2 Vanilla
I'd like to see this too, while pre-1.09 patches might be more of a niche interest I think it'd be cool to support them. 1.00 and 1.07 specifically would be cool additions I think, because both are the original release versions of D2 and LoD respectively. 1.08 would be pretty cool as well since it's more refined than 1.07 and it was the release version of LoD on battlenet.
I like playing these patches to see the differences between the versions and how the game has evolved (and to gather some of the ridiculously powerful items I suppose 😛).
Nice work on this wrapper by the way!
Will there be any D2 Vanilla Classic support?
