Crash with Median XL #18

Using version 0.99.403. When playing on Median XL, I got an easily reproducible crash, though the crash might be on Median XL's side.

The crash happens at least in fullscreen mode, I couldn't try in windowed since I can't get the game to run in windowed for some reason.

Steps to reproduce are quite easy: talk to Gheed in act 1, choose Gamble, alt-tab out and then back in.

Strange, this doesn't happen on my machine. Does it simply crash?

I managed to reproduce it by omitting the -w option on the command line. It seems to work if you start with -w first, then hit alt-enter to go to fullscreen mode.

I'm having major issues debugging when Median XL is installed, I think I need to talk to the creators of that mod to proceeed.

Sorry for the late reply. I realized the crashes happen with most (if not all) vendor windows, if this helps. I had issues with the game not showing at all despite the window being created on previous versions of D2DX, so I stopped using it, but I'll check it out again soon.

Median XL running smoothly using D2DX v0.99.519, problem Median XL MOD doesnt support widescreen and uses D2 v1.13c

As Median XL 2.0 has been released, I hope someone can take another look into this issue. I love D2DX's motion smoothing so I opt to use it over the other options.

I believe the 2.0 patch notes mentioned having fixed a crash with the vendor window, which may or may not be related to this issue. I'll try to find some time to check it out.
