D2SE Won't work #66

Running D2SE at Windows 7 Compatibility mode won't work because it gets disabled. Is there anyway to resolve this?

I think there is an option in the config d2dx file about the compatibility try to set it to true

@iamyoyz There is and I had tried that. The only problem is that compatibility mode only works for windows xp only for the config. If I do that the game crashes.

The flag in the config file is for the Win7 compat mode as well. So this might be an issue with the D2SE client or something. I need to investigate.

@bolrog Currently, I'm just using the vanilla 1.13 version it allows you to select.

I do have zy-el, but I wasn't using that to test.

I see, thanks. I'll see what I can do.

I will however say that D2SE is very archaic at this point, not even supporting 1.13d and 1.14.

in D2DX,cfg Edit this ~> set to true, nocompatmodefix=true , btw what os are using win10 or win 7?, better dont set any compatibility and try

@MAXBURAOT I have used that parameter and set the compatibility mode to windows 7. If I do that, I crash after diablo starts.

Forget using D2SE, its quite old D2 MOD launcher that always use Plugy also, better use Plugy standalone to launch your mods, theres no problem with D2DX, but if you insist you need to go D2SE forum and ask for support. btw this is D2DX not D2SE :)

@bolrog Using "SGD2FreeRes" by itself from "mir-diablo-ii-tools/SlashGaming-Diablo-II-Free-Resolution" works if I load it from plugy image

But the D2DX Glide doesn't work. I hope this helps you in any shape way or form. I would love to have D2DX working for D2SE. D2SE + D2DX launching the game results in an "Access Violation" D2SE + SGD2FreeRes launching the game results work perfect.

It starts fine for me with D2SE + 1.13c and the latest D2DX. Are there any other mods you're using in particular? Or command line options?
