This is a special situation where X-Plane is on D:\ but the user's temporary 
file location is on C:\.  Working with 
Simon to try and work out a solution.  Sent a test application that does some 
file copy tests from C:\ to D:\, 
which worked at the root of the HD.  So it seems to be something about the 
particular destination X-Plane 
folders on D:\

to me the same issue, can´t install sceneries and aircrafts.
Also have x-plane on D:\X-Plane 9\X-Plane 9.00 Beta-1\

Believe this was a privileges issue and the latest release now requests admin 
privileges when it runs.
