To convert a community to a space in element:
Voilà!
To self-host a space:
Local Addresses
for the space in the space-settings > Visibility. main address
Note: the user doing this needs to be a local user on the server-address being created and an admin of the space (i.e. admin @user:matrix.org
can only add addresses for matrix.org
while @user:bonfire.link
can only add addresses for bonfire.link
For reference, matrix.bonfire.link
is currently not federating it's room/space list.
In Synapse to enable this use: allow_public_rooms_over_federation: true
in your homeserver.yaml
file

For reference, matrix.bonfire.link is currently not federating it's room/space list.
I will look into this tomorrow!
Missing rooms added on the space.
For reference,
matrix.bonfire.link

in yourhomeserver.yaml
file
