game entry does not include platform #55

There is only one release date, and the gaming platform is not included.

Easiest way to fix it, would be by treating releases for different platforms as different entries

Maybe it is because of this:

It looks like if there is something mixed up...

Mediatracker: Bildschirmfoto 2022-02-11 um 07 26 09

IGDB: Bildschirmfoto 2022-02-11 um 07 26 47

@URBANsUNITED I might be missing something but I think the current model is missing the platform field. I don't think this is an issue with a confusion over platforming genre and platform field.

I think the results in IGDB and MediaTracker being in a different order for the genre is reasonable (looks like igdb is displaying in alphabetical order?).

I would definitely like a platform field, I might end up using "any" a lot but I do have Tetris on a few different platforms so would really like to have them distinguished.

This proved to be much more complicated then I thought. For now I added platforms to details page, just like on IGDB.

I would like to have multiple release dates for different platforms, and they should be visible on calendar and upcoming pages, but I don't think that treating releases for different platforms would be a good idea, as there would be huge amount of duplicate items.

Any update on this? 🙂 This is one of the few issues I have. It's very common that a game is released for example first on Playstation and then a year later on pc and this right now marks the game as already released.

I however think it would be good to be able to track a specific platform. Most people don't care about the platforms they don't have access to so I don't think it would be that many duplicates.

The possibility to choose the platform is missing at the moment which is quite important to differentiate on which platform the user played/is playing the game. A bit more complex would be to implement it to the releases.
