I'd love that. I read books in multiple languages. If I could search by language, it'll help me to:
The only challenge I see here is the inconsistent formatting of languages as they're in a free text format. Maybe this needs to be tackled first.
For the themes, I can also imagine that it is useful to find new books. Again, the inconsistent formats might be a challenge here as well. A dev theme could be labelled e.g. as "dev"/"programming"/"developing"/... I think the issue is here even bigger since languages are limited in number and could theoretically be limited to a list you could select from (maybe with the option to suggest additional ones to cover rare ones). For themes, there needs to be some kind of taxonomy to be able to group similar books - building that however might be hard.
There are many library classification methods: Dewey Decimal¹, Bliss², Library of Congress³, Colon⁴, etc.
Another problem with inconsistent formatting is the language of the interface. You can choose different languages from English to see Bookwyrm interface and you may fill the language field using your interface language. Or also you can use the language of the book... A lot of work here 😅

Maybe it's not useful or interesting, but what about to create language and themes as link tags in the book page? And also make these tags searchable...
Thank you for your great job!!
