Display sun & wind data on the map #17

Seeing the direction of the sun at a given time for a given location is very useful for selecting which area or boulders you want to go to. Similar to how https://www.oblyk.org/maps/crags does it. Click anywhere on the map, click the 'Sun' button and the current sun direction pops up as an overlay. I think the indicator could be a lot more subtle for Boolder though, and the location could also be attached to a boulders coordinates instead of where you click?

Wind data is probably a bit harder to do, since it isn't fixed. But maybe something like https://open-meteo.com/ could be used?

Either would be really cool to see if possible!

I'd love to help but I don't know any Ruby and don't know iOs development :/ If you need PHP and/or JS help I'd love to!

Hello Sander, Thank you for the suggestion!

Can you elaborate a bit? Is your goal to find an area that dries fast after the rain? Or because you want to climb in the shade on a sunny day? Other?

Both really.

It could help you look for a project that’s directly in the sun after some rain. If it rained in the morning you could look at a fast drying area in the afternoon (95.2) and if the sun is directly on the face of a boulder you can expect it to dry fairly quick.

In the summer it could help you avoid boulders that are directly in the sun. No point in going to project a boulder if it’s a vert wall, it’s 30 degrees and the sun is straight on it.
