What version of WP are you using? What's your theme? (bp-default, a child of bp-default, a WP theme adapted with BP Template Pack, etc)
Thanks for your quick reply! It's Wordpress Version Version 3.2.1 and BuddyPress Default 1.5 Theme
Would it help to give you access to our site?

Yeah, it would at least help me to see the problem. You can send credentials to [my-github-username] at gmail.com.
Thank you so much! I just created an admin user for you, please let me know if you got the login credentials!
You can reproduce the issue by simply trying to create a tab before one word then switch to and back from html mode. The tab space should be gone. The same thing happens when you just save the doc.
We tried to keep a formatting similar to this:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit,
sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.
Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris
nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.
ok sorry, I failed to demonstrate the text layout here in github in my previous comment :) I hope you still get the idea.
I got a notification that an account had been created, but it said it was pending approval. I did not get a username/password.
Sorry for that! Ok let me just send you the credentials via e-mail again.
Everything seems to be working OK for me: http://stahl.lindakarlsson.de/groups/test2/docs/test-2
Hi,
it’s really odd, it seems like you can only add a tab if there’s another paragraph or a bold tag at the beginning. Please try to reproduce the following:
Two paragraph with tabs at the beginning of the sentence:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Proin quis dapibus urna. Nulla id volutpat nulla. Integer vitae dictum sapien. Duis dignissim sagittis turpis et ultricies. Integer rutrum quam at nibh aliquam vulputate. Nulla euismod nisl eget ligula bibendum aliquet.
I'm sorry, it really seems to be a minor bug when working with tabs. I stumbled over this issue because the given text here is full of tabs, but not bold and no other formatting types. Since tabs weren't working as we expected, I thought that the formatting generally wasn't working. I guess we'll just have to live without this certain formatting way of using tabs for indenting the beginnings of paragraphs...
I can't thank you enough for you effort. Is there a way to donate you something via PayPal or anything?
It sounds like this isn't really a general problem, but is a problem with the Tab functionality. That's unsurprising, given that the Tab function is a hack that I wrote myself. At some point in the future, I'll try to rewrite it so that it uses a proper CSS method for indentation. Thanks for your help tracking it down.
Oops, our messages got crossed :)
You can donate via http://teleogistic.net/donate/ if you'd like. Glad you're making good use of BuddyPress Docs!
It's really great! Your plugin is helping a group of befriended writers (including my wife http://www.lindakarlsson.de/demuc/ ) to comment and collaborate on their progress of writing their novels or books. Even though this group of swedes lives across europe.
So thanks again for making this possible! A donation to you general awesomeness was just made!
We are using buddypress version 1.5 in combination with Buddypress Docs Version 1.1.11 and experience a loss of formatting in the tinyMCE Editor when editing in the front end. Making a text bold works but no tabs or other formatting types. The formatting is already lost when switching between visible and html mode.
