As of 2.2.1, we have some workarounds for limitations in the way that archive.html works in some default themes. See #728. The workarounds are fairly general and should work with most block themes (at least as of now, late-2023).

But it's not perfect, and the divergence between different themes will require theme-specific approaches. See eg https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-docs/issues/728#issuecomment-1863753818 - twentytwentyfour's archive.html uses a three-column view, which doesn't really work for our theme-compat technique.
