This fixes #239 and #371

This pull request should be pretty straightforward. It would be great, if these two very simple fixes could be included in the upcoming revision.

Thanks for the fix ! This is unfortunately too late for the upcoming 1.77 release, but I'll make sure to merge this to master as soon as possible.

Thanks for merging. No problem regarding the next release. We're using a patched version anyway, but it's nice to see our bugfixes included in the official releases :)
