Profile photo displays not adjusted to the same aspect ratio

This can be shown in the library pagelet, I don't know if it happens elsewhere:

I want avatars on the website to work exactly as they do on Slack. Where the icons are always consistently shown as a rounded corner rectangle. In the image above those should be the Slack-sized icons not variably sized images of different aspect ratios.
