Error Installing on Mac OS X 10.9.3 - No Error Message #27

I tried running the installer but it says there is an error with installing. I see what looks like a truncated error message in the header where it trails with "You may want to try l" but then the message prints off the window and there's no way I can find to show it (scale the box, etc). I previously had docker installed via homebrew but tried to remove it (also using homebrew) - not sure if there's something related there. boot2docker installed fine.

Can you try and make a screenshot ? Did you have VBox running ?

OSX installers have a log file that you can view using (Help|Log file) or the menu next to help - I don't have a mac near me atm.

Can you please take a look to see what it says too?

I have the same thing I guess. Installation is also complaining about 'Installation Failed'. Message that I get:

The upgrade failed (The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)

I think VirtualBox is causing some errors, because I get the same message with installing VirtualBox with the OSX Installer.

I may have solved my own problem after looking at the log. Since the file was failing with verifying the package, I tried downloading an older version, 0.11, which installed fine. Once I had it installed, I tried the package again that I was trying from and realized that was 0.12, not 1.0 - the problem for me is that when I saw the package name of the 1.0 download it's called "boot2docker" not "Docker" like the other packages are. So, in theory, someone who actually belongs in this world messing with these things knows enough to disregard a discrepancy in a package installer name - but for my 2 cents, that was my point of confusion. :) Thanks!

I solved this by booting in Safe Mode (hold SHIFT key while booting), uninstalling VirtualBox, rebooting (normally) and installing it again.

Sorry, this repository is long-since deprecated in favor of Docker Toolbox (whose usage is now also discouraged in favor of Docker for Windows and Docker for Mac).
