Resynthesize acting weird #14

Hi!

I'm using Gimp 2.8.2 and I've downloaded Resythesize (v2.0) from Github. The plugin doesn't work properly, I get weird errors like those here: http://www.gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3577 (NachResynth01.jpg).

Regardless of the picture and tweaks I get stuff like that. With the resynthesize from the repos it works well though. I guess it's the old 0.16 version.

Thanks, but probably it is behaving as designed. I changed the behaviour from version 0.16 to v1.0: the basic resynthesizer DOES resynthesize from the selected area into the selected area. To get the behaviour you want, you must explicitly pass another image with a separate selection, or another layer that has no selection ( i.e. a small patch from the original image, in a separate layer.) That is what the plugin "Heal Selection" does (copy the original image, invert the selection, and pass that to the resynthesizer as the source.) So as per the gimpchat you cited, if you use the "Heal Selection" plugin shipped with v2.0 it should work like you want.

Again, sometimes I regret having made the change between versions, since it has caused confusion, but there is no undoing it without causing more confusion.
