There's now an explanation in https://github.com/bootchk/resynthesizer/wiki/Install-Resynthesizer#flatpak that's pretty good, though it doesn't give an actual sample command line to install Resynthesizer. So I'm closing this patch which no longer applies.
That documentation says
It has been reported that flatpak doesn't automatically choose a version of Resynthesizer that works with the already installed Gnome Application Platform.
In my case, I can simply install with flatpak install Resynthesizer
and flatpak will ask which version to install.
% flatpak install Resynthesizer

Closing for real.
As commented in issue #83, installing the .tar.gz of this plugin to a flatpak doesn't work, so mention that there's a flatpak of it.
