sha aec0099 causes the pipeline GUI to freeze #157

Joel,

The latest changes to next (my resizer and you test) have somehow caused the GUI to hang endlessly with no window on phenocam.

It could be to do with the local git HEAD, it could be a bug or something I've screwed up, but it was working on my machine (Debian 8).

Could you investigate as a priority when you're back? Tim has CLI scripts that will do the resizing, but to do anything more he'll need the gui.

Good catch. I found that https://github.com/borevitzlab/timestreamlib/commit/aec0099bd7260efd77151c7c4baad8550bc49c71 is the culprit.
