gtsam (and its dependencies) can be easily installed with conda/mamba: conda install gtsam. While we only have the latest release on conda-forge, one could also easily build the dev branch by changing the source url in https://github.com/conda-forge/gtsam-feedstock/blob/main/recipe/meta.yaml to a git_url: https://docs.conda.io/projects/conda-build/en/stable/resources/define-metadata.html#source-from-git

@Tobias-Fischer do you want the "conda install gtsam" mentioned in the README of this repo? Wouldn't it make sense to have it mentioned here: https://gtsam.org/get_started/ ?

Tobias-Fischer commented 10 months ago

That seems like the perfect place @berndpfrommer :). Does that page source live on GitHub as well?

Hi @jlblancoc , how can we update the GTSAM documentation at https://gtsam.org/get_started/ ? @Tobias-Fischer would like to advertise "conda/mamba" installation, and I'd like to update the install instructions via apt (which still point to the 4.0 repo that has been obsoleted by now).

@berndpfrommer I think you are looking for this: https://github.com/borglab/gtsam.org

@Tobias-Fischer , please open an issue (or better yet, submit a PR) against the repo that @jlblancoc has linked above. I believe the page you need to edit is this one: https://github.com/borglab/gtsam.org/blob/master/get_started.md Please close this issue if this works for you, thanks!
