A rather large set of upstream changes in the last couple of days broke the RPN app (tested with numworks/epsilon@9a1ecec). Unlike boricj/numworks-hello-world@9188b23 and boricj/numworks-tic-tac-toe@5874687, the RPN app is more intimately intertwined with the epsilon source code and nontrivial amounts of changes are required to fix this.
Until then, stick to the 1.7.0 release source code if you want to use this app.
