Somehow, it looks like it's saving the characters correctly but showing them 
wrongly, but only in that portion of the page (which means that it could indeed 
be saving them wrongly). 

Tried to interchange the encoding in /portal_skins/custom/main_template for 
utf-8 and iso-8859-1 to check if it would display correctly but it didn't. 
Encoding the characters in html encoding didn't work either because they are 
not converted when displayed.

The versions before the redesign should be checked because this was probably 
working before that.

Note: this info is a single-language item relative to the web site and it is 
not possible to translate it for EN and PT.
